ABSTRACT

Deakin has recently embarked on several very complex initiatives with very short timelines, very complex stakeholder landscapes, and unclear IT requirements.  

Two such initiatives involve setting up new overseas campuses: a campus in GIFT City India and a campus in Indonesia.

This is uncharted territory for Deakin. GIFT City is the first ever international university to set up a campus in India, and the Indonesian campus will be the first UK-Australia overseas joint campus offering a unique combination of Australian and British degree subjects approved by national regulators in Australia, the UK and Indonesia.

This presentation will outline the specific challenges of undertaking analysis activities in such dynamic & complex environments, how the business analysis practices is helping ensure their success, and how the lessons we are learning can be applied by business analysts working on other complex projects.
