Supporting a shared approach to research data movement and orchestration.

As modern research becomes increasingly data intensive and reliant on distributed computing infrastructure, the eResearch sector faces a challenge establishing interoperable and consistent mechanisms to support data movement. Despite having access to high-speed networks many researchers are still using outdated or inefficient approaches when transferring research data for analysis, sharing with collaborators, or long-term preservation. A community wide effort is required to resolve this critical infrastructure bottleneck and support a sustainable data management capability.

Join sector leaders to identify the technological and change requirements needed for Australasian eResearch to meet this data-intensive research challenge. Through several presentations and panel discussions we will share common use cases and case studies about how research groups and facilities are managing data movement and storage. We will discuss the roadblocks researchers often face accessing existing infrastructure solutions and propose shared solutions for accessible and interoperable approaches to data movement across the Australian and international research ecosystem.
