QUT / EDR Portfolio Architecture Practice, Standards and adoption.
ABSTRACT
QUT/EDR's Portfolio has embarked on a transformative journey to mature its architectural practices, aligning with industry standards and best practices. We adopted the (iServer) Enterprise Architecture (EA) Architectural Development Lifecycle (ADL) and customized EDR Templates, enabling consistent modeling and communication of architectural artifacts.
Embracing EDGAR (Enterprise Digital Governance Repository) principles, we streamlined our EA processes, fostering collaboration and reusability. The Application Portfolio Management Accelerator empowered us to optimize our application landscape, driving efficiency and enabling data-driven decision-making.
To anchor our efforts, we adopted CAUDIT (Council of Australian University Directors of Information Technology) models, including HERM, BCM, and ARM, ensuring alignment with higher education sector best practices. We mapped our ecosystem, defined our strategic intent, and established a clear value chain proposition for the portfolio.
Continuous improvement was at the forefront, as we researched and integrated industry best practices into our architectural frameworks. Challenges arose, but through perseverance and adaptability, we overcame obstacles, learning invaluable lessons along the way.
This journey has positioned QUT/EDR's Portfolio as a leader in architectural maturity, enabling us to deliver exceptional value to our stakeholders and drive digital transformation within the higher education landscape.
